“The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.”
― John Muir
Looking for a vacation rental in northern Michigan? A cottage near the Interlochen Center for the Arts? or Traverse City? A cabin to rent when you drop-off or pick-up your child at Interlochen for school or camp? A house convenient to the golf (or skiing!) at Crystal Mountain? This beautiful house is a Bird Lovers Paradise in beautiful northern Michigan, located on five and a half acres on the western shore of Duck Lake with 160 feet of lake frontage. The house was completed in spring 2007, is beautifully finished, and looks across a secluded bay to wooded hills on the opposite side of the lake. It sleeps five guests comfortably in two private bedrooms (three baths) with approximately 2800 sq ft, including a walk out basement. The world renowned Interlochen Center for the Arts is just one and one half miles away, and the village of Interlochen about a mile beyond that. Traverse City and Crystal Mountain are each about 20 minutes away.
Summer is time spent on the lake. The soft breezes, long warm days and cool nights provide plenty of time for exploring, relaxing, swimming, boating, fishing, climbing, biking, flying, swinging and sunset watching. Time for a glass of wine and star gazing by the lake.
Warm days and crisp nights. The warmth of the bonfire is comforting. Reminisce and renew old friendships as people come back to visit an important place. There are apples waiting to be picked and wine to be tasted. Explore the trails and tour the wineries. View the fall colors as the last warm days fade toward winter.
The honest season, winter is elegant in its simplicity, crisp cold and beautiful with its silver-white dressing. Warm by the fireplace after a day of snowshoeing or skiing and enjoy the tingle and twinge as you think about the days' exertions, another in a long line of outdoor adventures.
